Very nice Marstons Single Hop Wai-ti. I must say that this is the best Marstons beer I have had for some time

I'm sorry, I fail to see where 'bowing down' and hidden agendas come into this. The Pub is, without doubt, a very beautiful Pub, the fact that it is a Marston's house, is not detrimentental to anyone other that Marston's themselves. If they were allowed to sell a non-Marston's Guest beer then it perhaps would help. The New Manager Russell Brooks is trying his best, and hopefully he will get it together. The Keith Wright, and I may be wrong, (please correct me if I am) is not the same Keith Wright as the brewer, so is entitled to his say, without being accused of hidden agenda's etc.

Wonderful pub originally a real farm house. Big easy accessable car park great decor bar staff choice and reasonable prices too. Biggs and Wright the dreary duo slagging pubs off again whats they matter didnt the BOW DOWN when you came in or recognise you. give it a try folks these people have their own hidden agendas

Awful ! It looks like a classic olde worlde pub, so your senses and your palate eagerly anticipate the real ale delights within. Unfortunately, the real ale always runs out at weekends and the kids behind the bar don't show any interest whatsoever in putting any more supplies on. One to avoid.

Under new management, Much improved, unfortunately being a Marsden's pub it is restricted in choice of beers. Pedigree on permanently and a rotating "guest" which are now as good a Marsdens as you can get.

They just pay lip service to Cask Ale, there is certainly no commitment, at times the beer is undrinkable, shame cos it's such a lovely pub.

This Pub is the oldest building in Rainhill, and should qualify as the epitome of the Chocolate Box pub, unfortunately the quality of the beer lets it down.
