Tried this pub for the first time yesterday and had mixed feelings. A nice friendly place, lots of character but pricey. The Black Sheep I had was very good but the chicken sunday roast me and my wife got was not the best.

What a clean well run pub oozing with character. Good choice of well kept beers and lovely food (yes I could not resist a bite to eat). I would recommend this pub to anyone for a drink or a meal. Could someone please explain to me how this pub is 2nd to the Duke of Cambridge there is no comparison at all. Something is clearly wrong with the way you pick your pub of the year.

Had a cracking roast in here today, washed down with some excellent beer from Wadworth and Blue Bear breweries. Well worth a trip out

To be fair can't say I've ever had a bad pint here. In Saturday afternoon (after trying some of the ale on at the Fir Tree Farm Mini Fest)and the Black Sheep was fine.

Went to a camra meeting here this year and was totally distugusted by the way we were treated.. The pub knew everyone was coming and a mini bus had been booked to take members (though I drove myself there) I believe it was quite expensive too. I got there about 15 minutes before everyone else and asked the owner where camra was having the meeting. "We dont save seats for that lot, they don't come often enough or spend enough" was the answer. Now there was a spare table in an alcove but that was kept for a pub quiz...about 8 people attended that. I asked was the pub quiz on every week "No just now and again" was the off hand reply.I think there were around 20 Camra members at meeting and you know we can like or 3 and as for the quiz members...half a lager each and sat there all night. Sorry Colliers Arms but that made no business sense and did not send a good message that Camra are welcome or catered for. In fairness the beer was good but as others have said here it was pricey. I will not be going again

a decent pub but i found it a little pricey for drinks, i understand they are in the middle of no-where but as aprevious comment stated it looks like they push the food side more( although it did smell good).
